We started locating a small tent in the area of the Chagres National Park Information Center.

We would like to give you a little story about our progress in obtaining our gift shop.
The above picture on the right used to be the park’s equipment and tool storage. When we asked the director of the park if we could use this space as a gift shop, she approved the idea and told us to go ahead with this great initiative.
Then, we obtained the paint from GEMAS (NGO) that was needed to improve the appearance of the store. When we finished painting it, USAID provided us with the installation and decoration of a bamboo fence while Panama Blue supplied us with a refrigerator and water bottles for us to sell.
Today we all work and try to improve the store. We are also committed to maintaining that part of the park orderly and clean so our visitors can have a place to enjoy and get souvenirs for their loved ones.
